Aline Technologies ("we", "us", "our") operates the Aline dating platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use our website (alinelove.in) and mobile application (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you consent to the practices described here.
1. Data We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
- Identity data: Name, age, gender, date of birth, profile photos, and optional bio information you provide during registration or profile editing.
- Contact data: Email address and/or phone number used to create or access your account.
- Location data: City or region you provide on your profile. We do not collect precise GPS location without your explicit consent.
- Usage data: Pages visited, features used, swipe actions, message metadata (not content), session timestamps, device type, and IP address.
- Payment data: Transaction history for token purchases and subscription payments. Payment card details are processed by our payment provider (Razorpay) and are never stored on Aline servers.
- Communications: Messages you send to other users through the Service, and any correspondence you send to our support team.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To create and manage your account and verify your identity.
- To provide the core matching and messaging features of the Service.
- To process payments for tokens and subscriptions.
- To send account-related notifications (OTPs, daily reward reminders, match alerts).
- To improve and personalise the Service through analytics.
- To detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse.
- To comply with applicable legal obligations.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your data on the following legal bases under applicable privacy law:
- Contract: Processing necessary to provide the Service you signed up for.
- Legitimate interests: Analytics, fraud prevention, and service improvement.
- Consent: Marketing communications and optional features (you may withdraw consent at any time).
- Legal obligation: Compliance with applicable Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Cloud infrastructure: Amazon Web Services (AWS S3, EC2) for storage and hosting. Data is stored in India or the Asia-Pacific region.
- Email / SMS providers: For delivering OTPs and notifications.
- Payment processor: Razorpay, for processing payments. Subject to Razorpay's own privacy policy.
- Analytics tools: Aggregated, anonymised data only.
- Law enforcement: Where required by a valid legal order or to protect the safety of users.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial records retained for 7 years under Indian tax law) or to resolve outstanding disputes.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal data.
- Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted storage, HTTPS transport, and access controls to protect your data. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
