Data Deletion Instructions

Aline Technologies ("we", "us", "our") respects your right to control your personal data. This page explains how you can delete your Aline account and request removal of all your personal data from our systems.

1. Delete Your Account from the Aline App

The fastest way to delete your account and associated data is directly from the app:

  1. Open the Aline mobile app or web app (app.alinelove.in).
  2. Sign in to your account using your phone number or email OTP.
  3. Navigate to Settings → Account.
  4. Tap Delete My Account.
  5. Confirm the deletion by entering the OTP sent to your registered phone number or email.
  6. Your account and associated profile data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

2. Request Deletion by Email

If you are unable to access the app, you can request account and data deletion by sending an email to support@alinelove.in from the email address associated with your account. Please include:

  • Your registered phone number or email address.
  • The subject line: "Data Deletion Request".
  • A short confirmation that you want your account and personal data permanently deleted.

We will verify your identity (via OTP sent to the registered phone/email) and complete the deletion within 30 days of receiving a valid request. You will receive an email confirmation once deletion is complete.

3. What Data Is Deleted

When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:

  • Your profile information (name, age, gender, bio, photos, location).
  • Your phone number and/or email address associated with the account.
  • Your matches, likes, swipes, and conversation history.
  • Your token wallet balance and subscription state.
  • Uploaded photos stored on our servers.
  • Device tokens used for push notifications.

4. What Data We May Retain

For legal, regulatory, fraud-prevention, and audit purposes, we may retain limited data for the minimum period required by applicable law, such as:

  • Transaction records (purchase amount, date, payment provider reference) required for GST and tax compliance under Indian law, for up to 7 years.
  • Abuse and safety records (e.g. reports filed against a user, ban history) to protect our community from repeat violators.
  • Anonymised and aggregated analytics that cannot be linked back to you.

Retained records are stored securely and are not used for marketing, matching, or any other service function.

5. Third-Party Services

Some data is processed by our third-party providers. When you delete your account, we also initiate deletion requests with these providers:

  • Razorpay (payment processing) — retains transaction data per RBI regulations.
  • RevenueCat (subscription management) — receives a deletion request for your user record.
  • Amazon Web Services (S3) — uploaded photos are deleted from object storage.
  • Meta / WhatsApp Cloud API — OTP messages are not persisted beyond the delivery log.

6. Timeline

  • Immediate: Your profile is hidden from other users and your account is deactivated.
  • Within 30 days: All personal data listed in Section 3 is permanently deleted from our databases and backups.
  • After 30 days: Only the limited data described in Section 4 (legal/audit retention) remains.
